A new look at cricket
Cricket as a game has always enthused me ( like every other Indian kid.) However, the way I ve started watching this game has changed drastically. Game of course is a representation of true life on a field! I was reading an article by Sunny Gavaskar and what he said about cricket applies perfectly to life. Here he goes " I have always believed that technique has never been a huge part of sport. Temperament is your No. 1 thing. You could have the best technique in the world, but if your temperament is bad, you'll be nowhere. While if the temperament is good and you don't have great technique, you will be able to do well. You have the ability inside you which makes you hang in there, makes you go on. That's what separates the men from the boys."
Latest passion - running
The latest journey I have embarked upon is running. It gives a great sense of joy when you slowly jog when the sun has just started it's journey towards the west as there are hardly any vehicles plying on the road, there is a chillness in the air, it is the only time of the day when you feel fresher with every progressive step. An early morning jog is definitely more than a physical exercise. It is a time when your mind is free and all by itself!
I was discussing whether I will be able to complete the 42 km full marathon to an experienced peer and what he said, put all my fears about me completing it to rest. Just concentrate on the next immediate step you have to take and that will take care of the rest. How true!
This holds good not only for running but for life itself. With an air of uncertainty looming large around us, the only thing we have control over is the action next in line and if we put our heart and soul to it and see to it, it is done in the best possible manner, it is all done! What this does amongst the other things is to reduce the burden of future and helps us put our best into the job in hand.

right or wrong
There are two things which influence the conduct of a person, one is the culture prevalent and the other is the upbringing; these two things go a long way in deciding what and how you conduct yourself.
What is very common in one society can throw tantrums if practiced in another. So the point is that, the legitimacy of a thing can be decided only after comprehensively taking into consideration the value systems prevalent in the society and the upbringing behind the person in question.
It goes without saying that the situation also plays an equally important role!

Nothingness
Nothingness is an asset too.... In the age when we keep running behind something or the other all the time.. hardly do we get time to think for and about ourselves, even if we get some time for ourselves, we have trained ourselves in such manner that we do not have the control to stay without doing anything. The reason we attribute to such an upbringing is, "it is a fast paced world and we've got to run ahead of the competition to excel.. if not excel at least survive.." so we refuse to stay idle.
But, what you and me have to understand is that we being born as human beings, running all the while for survival is just one part of the entire process of living and not the end in itself.
We are endowed with a treasure called the soul, which is the one thing which differentiates you and me from the other living things. So, isn't it part of our purpose of living to understand and explore the soul and look at the being from a different perspective altogether?
How and when do we do it?
Simple .. at the time we have nothing else to do.. not only because we do not have anything else to do, but because this the perfect setting to do... and this is precisely the time the mind gets to interact with the higher being ie the SOUL.... we ll sounds interesting.. but how does it happen?
Try looking at your mind as a third person carefully observing what all it thinks and where all it goes. Act with a sense of detachment from your mind and try to understand you are not the one who thinks, but it is the mind. What we have to look realize here is that the mind is a different being from what we are... of course it is from within us by not us in totality..
THIS is the realization which stands to deliver greatest possible benefits to the humankind
THIS is the realization which results to an exalted state of living
THIS is the realization which will act as the pain reliever for all the pains of humanity!

on how to take criticism
Every one of us have to learn from mother nature (weather.... it pays no attention to criticism ).
It strongly believes in what it does and it knows why it does......
Similarly when you know what you are doing and why you are doing, pay scant attention what all people think and say... coz there is a genre of people( which unfortunately is the most popular segment and wide spread community- may be the only competitor for Orkut !) which yapping is amongst the most favorite activities.. people of this class don understand what and how they themselves do things.. but seem to have a better understanding of the modus operandi of others...
What a fruitless pursuit!!!
